Dictionaries for the spell checker are available in the following languages:

To install any of these languages, download the self-extracting executable below. When the download is complete, run the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Configuring a particular language:

A particular language for the spell checker can be selected as follows:

  1. From the Configure menu, choose Preferences.
  2. Select Spelling, from the left hand list.
  3. Choose a language from the drop-down list of Dictionaries.
  4. Click OK.

Adding Legal or Medical Terms:

These should be added to the list of files used for one of the main language dictionaries above. For the Legal dictionary, add SSCELx.TLX and SSCELx2.CLX, and for the Medical dictionary, add SSCEMx.TLX and SSCEMx2.CLX, where "x" is "A" for American or "B" for British.

For example, to add the American legal dictionary:

  1. From the Configure menu, choose Preferences.
  2. Select Spelling, from the left hand list.
  3. Click on the Edit button.
  4. Click on the Add File button.
  5. Select SSCELA.TLX and click the Open button.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for SSCELA2.CLX.
  7. Click Close.
  8. Click OK.

After that, those files will be searched for any words that are not found in the main dictionary.
